Liverpool are reportedly considering signing a new central defender in the January transfer window. A report from talkSPORT has explained that the Reds looked at a few names in the summer that they did not end up pursuing, and mentions Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Willian Pacho as one possible option. This is not the first time Liverpool have been linked with Pacho, as according to Le 10 Sport, the club tried hijacking Pacho’s move to PSG. The Ecuador international has shone at the Parc des Princes and played a key role for Luis Enrique’s side as they won the Champions League last season.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, PSG's Willian Pacho, 23, is on a wishlist of centre-backs being considered by Liverpool, who are reportedly holding internal discussions about signing a defender in the January window. A potential deal for the Ecuador international is viewed as hugely ambitious as he is under contract with the European champions until 2029. Jacobs also mentioned that Newcastle's Sven Botman and the Sporting CP pair of Zeno Debast and Ousmane Diomande are on the same list of targets. According to Transfermarkt, Pacho has a current market value of €65 million.
