According to a report from ESPN BR, Flamengo holds an interest in Zenit player Wendel, who the club recently targeted. Wendel's contract with Zenit has been renewed, but it contains a condition that makes a potential departure easier starting next year, given that his release clause has been lowered to 25 million euros.

According to the Brazilian portal Mix Vale, Zenit's Brazilian midfielder Wendel has attracted interest from both Flamengo and Palmeiras. The portal also reports that Botafogo continues to monitor the 28-year-old player, despite his transfer failing last summer. Zenit demands at least €20 million for the player. He joined the club on October 6, 2020 and is under contract until June 2029. Transfermarkt currently lists his market value as €18.00m.
