According to ESPN BR, 30-year-old Brazilian midfielder Walace will remain at Cruzeiro. This decision comes despite being approached by two Brazilian teams, one of which was Grêmio, and receiving inquiries from Italian clubs. Cruzeiro had initially considered negotiating the player's departure to reduce the team's wage bill. However, the decision for him to stay was made after a conversation between coach Tite, Walace, and his staff. The departure of Ryan Guilherme also strengthened the club's need to keep another midfielder on the squad. Walace, who has been capped 5 times for Brazil, joined Cruzeiro in July 2024 and has a contract until the end of 2028. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €4.50m.
