Ferencváros has announced the signing of 28-year-old Serbian international Veljko Birmancevic from the Czech top-division team Sparta Praha. The club's sporting director, Hajnal Tamás, stated that they had been familiar with the player for a long time, having watched him play when he was at Cukaricki. During the 2023/24 season, Galatasaray had reportedly offered €10 million for the winger. The footballer could have signed a 3+1 year contract with Ferencváros. Birmancevic, who has 17 caps for Serbia, had also been recently linked with Getafe. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €3.50m. In February 2026, reports indicated Getafe held a €4 million purchase option, and a year earlier, in February 2025, Sparta Prague was reportedly asking for €7 million from Beşiktaş, which had offered a reported €4 million. His move from Toulouse to Sparta Prague in July 2024 was for a fee of €2.3 million.
