Vasilios Zagaritis Transfer from Almere City to SC Heerenveen
SC Heerenveen has signed Vasilios Zagaritis from Almere City. The 24-year-old left-back has signed a contract in Friesland until the summer of 2028, with an option for one more season. Zagaritis was previously brought to Almere City by Johan Hansma, who is now the technical manager at Heerenveen and recognized Zagaritis as a valuable addition to the team.
Vasilios Zagaritis is set to transfer from Almere City to SC Heerenveen, as the latter club plans to activate the release clause in his contract. Zagaritis was under contract with Almere City until June 30, 2026, but Heerenveen is reportedly prepared to pay the 500,000 euros required to secure his release. The official announcement of his signing is anticipated on Thursday. Zagaritis is expected to serve as a replacement for Mats Köhlert, who has transferred to Brøndby. The 24-year-old Greek left-back joined Almere City in the summer of 2024 from Italian club Parma. Despite being a consistent performer for Almere City, the team's relegation from the Eredivisie this season has motivated Zagaritis to continue playing in the Eredivisie, an opportunity Heerenveen is now providing.
