Beşiktaş wants to add players to its squad following a disappointing season and is interested in 27-year-old Greek forward Vangelis Pavlidis. The club's president, Serdal Adali, met with representatives from Benfica in Madrid. This initial meeting had a positive outcome, resulting in the Turkish club obtaining permission from Benfica to contact the forward, who is currently in Greece. The start of negotiations between the two clubs now depends on Pavlidis. Pavlidis joined Benfica from AZ Alkmaar in July 2024 for a reported €18 million and has a contract until 2029. The Greek international has 55 caps and 10 goals for his country. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €32.00m. Reports from May 2026 suggest Benfica is willing to negotiate for a fee of around €50 million. The forward has also recently been linked with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Juventus.
