Everton could have an advantage if they decide to attempt to sign him, as Parrott was reportedly an Everton supporter in his younger years. He also plays alongside two Everton players for Ireland, who could help convince him to join.

Everton have been repeatedly linked with a move for 24-year-old Irish striker Troy Parrott. His current club, AZ, were unwilling to consider any offers for him during the January transfer window, and a fee significantly exceeding his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €18.3 million would have been necessary to secure a sale. Parrott, who joined AZ permanently from Tottenham in 2024, also revealed that he could have joined Everton earlier in his career. He explained that after trials with several UK clubs, he had to make a final decision between Spurs, Everton, Wolves, and Celtic, ultimately choosing Tottenham because he felt most welcome there. The Republic of Ireland international, who has 33 caps and 10 goals for his country, is under contract with AZ until 2029 and has recorded two goals and two assists in 12 Eredivisie appearances this season. Several other clubs, including Celtic, Fulham, and VfL Wolfsburg, have also been linked with him.
