Train Hume has signed a new contract with AFC Sunderland until 2030, despite VfL Wolfsburg offering a transfer fee of twelve million euros. This contract extension effectively ends the possibility of a transfer to VfL Wolfsburg for now.

VfL Wolfsburg has made an offer of approximately twelve million euros to AFC Sunderland for the transfer of 23-year-old Northern Irish international Trai Hume. The club is looking to strengthen its right defense side, where Kilian Fischer is currently the only player. According to Ben Jacobs from 'GiveMeSport', this strategic move by the Bundesliga club aims to address the thin personnel situation on the right side of their defense. Hume's contract at Sunderland runs until June 2027 and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €12.00m.
