An agreement was reached with Venezia for Toni Fruk within the parameters that Rijeka wanted. The next day, Bartol Franjić suffered a broken collarbone against Milan, and Venezia's priority became signing a center-back, so Venezia no longer planned to sign Fruk. It is stated that this does not mean he will not be considered in the future.

Vecernji List reports that, based on unofficial information, the Italian first division club Venezia had a serious interest in Toni Fruk during the final phase of the transfer window and submitted an offer of five million euros. The deal with Venezia was not completed because the club shifted its focus to defensive reinforcements following an injury to Bartol Franjić.

According to Germanijak, Venezia's interest in Toni Fruk continues and work will proceed to finalize the transfer. A transfer is possible only in January as the transfer window is closed.

Venezia and West Ham have been mentioned as clubs interested in Toni Fruk, a 25-year-old Croatian attacking midfielder who plays for Rijeka. However, this interest is currently considered less concrete compared to that from Wrexham. Fruk joined Rijeka in July 2023 and holds a contract until June 2027. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €9.00m. For Croatia, he has earned 7 caps and scored 1 goal. In the current 2026/27 season, he has 1 goal and 1 assist from 3 domestic league appearances. Recent reports from July 2026 stated that Rijeka's asking price was between €9.5 million and €12 million. A bid from Paris FC was reportedly in the range of €6 million to €8 million.
