According to Tuttomercato, Empoli is interested in re-signing Tommaso Baldanzi amid ongoing negotiations. The 23-year-old Italian attacking midfielder spent last season on loan at Genoa from Roma. During his loan in the 2025/2026 Serie A season, Baldanzi made 18 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Roma and Genoa are currently discussing the player's future, and Daniele De Rossi would like him to stay in Liguria. These talks are intertwined with negotiations for another player. Recent reports from May and June 2026 indicate Genoa is negotiating to make the transfer permanent for around €9 million, which is a discount on the agreed €10 million purchase option. Roma had originally signed Baldanzi from Empoli in February 2024 for a reported €10 million. The former Italy U21 international has a current Transfermarkt market value of €8.50m.
