CF Montréal is in the final stages of an agreement to acquire defender Tomás Avilés from Inter Miami on a loan that includes a purchase option. The transfer was necessary for Inter Miami to make a U-22 Initiative spot available for the signing of Germán Berterame. Avilés is seeking more playing time and a new beginning after his role became less significant in 2025, partly due to disciplinary issues.
