Although Drexler had initially been set for a loan move to Magdeburg, the 19-year-old defender, who had recently signed his first professional contract with Hoffenheim until 2027, was convinced by Nürnberg's late efforts. Drexler is set to join Nürnberg on loan until the end of the season, with no purchase option included in the agreement. This transfer makes him the second Hoffenheim player to join Nürnberg this season, following Julian Justvan's move in August.
