According to Tuttomercato, Venezia have announced the signing of Thorir Johann Helgason. The club confirmed the move through an official statement on their website. Helgason, who was released from Lecce, has signed a contract until June 30, 2029.

Icelandic midfielder Þórir Jóhann Helgason, 25, is set to join Venezia after deciding to sign for the club. He will reportedly be released from Lecce on a free transfer, a move that was arranged in recent months. The club will decide in the coming days whether to send him on loan or keep him for the 2026-2027 season. Helgason joined Lecce in July 2021 and has 20 caps and 2 goals for Iceland. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €2.30m.
