Teodor Ivanov of CSKA Sofia is on Bologna's shortlist of centre-backs for the summer, but in a lower position. Ivanov is a contemporary and teammate of Georgiev of AEK in the Bulgarian national team. Ivanov is from the new generation of Bulgarian football.

Italian Serie A club Bologna is interested in 21-year-old Bulgarian CSKA footballer Teodor Ivanov, as well as his teammate Petko Panayotov. A scout from Bologna noticed the central defender during CSKA's 1-0 victory over Slavia at the Vasil Levski national stadium, where Ivanov played the entire match and contributed to his team's third consecutive clean sheet. The scout had initially travelled to Bulgaria to watch another player, Kristiyan Balov, but was impressed by the performances of Ivanov and Panayotov. Bologna is expected to send scouts to observe the young CSKA players again before the season ends. Ivanov, who has been capped 10 times for the Bulgaria U21 team, joined CSKA in July 2025 and is under contract until June 2029. He has made 15 appearances in the efbet Liga this season and has a current market value of €500k, according to Transfermarkt.
