Unirea Slobozia, which is currently 12th in the Superligă, announced on January 1st the transfer of Moldovan international Teodor Lungu, who will work again with coach Andrei Prepeliță after they previously worked together at Petrocub Hîncești. The 30-year-old midfielder will sign a contract for a period of 1.5 years. Lungu was named the best Moldovan midfielder in 2024 and 2025. His previous clubs include Sfîntul Gheorghe Suruceni, Foresta Suceava, Dacia Buiucani, Gardolo, and Petrocub. His honors include winning the national championship and the Cupa Moldovei with Petrocub in 2024, and the Cup and Supercup of Moldova with Sfîntul Gheorghe in 2021. Lungu has played one match for the Moldova national team, playing for 70 minutes in a 2024 friendly against Gibraltar. He is the second transfer for Unirea this winter.
