Newcastle United have conducted checks on Dynamo Kyiv's Ukrainian defender Taras Mykhavko, and are one of several Premier League clubs monitoring the player, who is considered one of Ukraine's top defensive talents. Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs interested in signing the 20-year-old in the summer. Tottenham Hotspur have also discussed him internally as a potential long-term target, and Nottingham Forest view him as a replacement option for Murillo. In addition to Newcastle, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Bournemouth have all conducted checks on the player. Although Mykhavko signed a new long-term contract in January, interest is reported to be intensifying. Clubs in Spain, Italy, and Germany are also monitoring him, though sources confirm the strongest interest comes from England. Mykhavko, who has one cap for Ukraine, has made 17 appearances and scored 2 goals in the Premier Liga this season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €8.00m. In August 2025, Dynamo Kyiv is reported to have rejected a €15 million offer from Marseille and demanded €25 million. Reports from October 2025 claimed Porto was willing to pay €20 million for the defender.
