Takato Yamamoto will join Borussia Dortmund from Gamba Osaka on a loan deal containing an option to buy, with an official announcement expected soon. The 18-year-old central midfielder is initially intended for Dortmund's Regionalliga team. However, because of World Cup absences, he is also expected to take part in the first team's pre-season training and join their tour of Asia. The left-footed Japanese U19 international has made six professional appearances for Gamba Osaka and has one goal in one appearance for the national youth side. In his home country, Yamamoto is considered a great talent and he impressed Dortmund's scouts with his progressive style of play. His current market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €175k.
