Atlético-MG has signed 18-year-old Nigerian winger Taiwo Alao as part of a strategy to scout for talent in Africa. The player, who developed at Sporting Lagos and was loaned to Ikorodu City, was observed in person by Atlético's football department, which also watched several of his games. Alao has signed a three-year contract and will initially join the Sub-20 squad for an adaptation period, having already begun activities at the club's training ground, Cidade do Galo.
