Catanzaro is showing interest in acquiring the 27-year-old Polish international Szymon Zurkowski from Spezia. Although Zurkowski has had a past knee issue, Catanzaro still considers him a valuable addition to their midfield. They value his experience, as he has participated in 48 Serie B matches and scored three goals, as well as 67 Serie A matches with 10 goals. Ciro Polito, Catanzaro's sporting director, is reported to have included Zurkowski on a shortlist of potential new signings to enhance the team's midfield, in alignment with coach Alberto Aquilani's plan to recruit at least two new midfielders.
