Italian centre-back Marco Ruggero, 26, could leave Spezia six months after arriving from Juve Stabia, following the club's relegation to Serie C and his salary no longer fitting their new wage parameters. The defender, who made nine appearances, has attracted interest from other Serie B clubs like Vicenza, SudTirol, and Empoli, with the latter having previously been considered the club most likely to complete a deal. Catanzaro has now also entered the competition to sign him. According to Il Secolo XIX, the Calabrian club, which has already signed Antonio Candela from Spezia, may offer around half a million euros for Ruggero's registration. This bid is below Spezia's valuation of 700,000 euros but could be sufficient to succeed over the other interested clubs. Ruggero's contract with Spezia is valid until June 2028, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €900k. The club acquired him for a €350,000 fee in January 2026.
