According to a source familiar with the situation cited by Championat, Zenit and Red Star Belgrade are nearing an agreement on a loan for Strahinja Erakovic with an option to buy, and the parties are finalizing the last details of the potential deal. Serbian media previously reported that Erakovic wants to leave Zenit due to dissatisfaction with playing time and head coach Sergei Semak's preference for other players. The Serbian media reports also stated that the defender has agreed to a move to Red Star Belgrade, whose head coach, Dejan Stankovic, considers him one of the leaders.

Sportklub reports that Strahinja Erakovic may transfer from Zenit to Red Star Belgrade, as the Serbian club has begun negotiations for a loan with an obligation to buy. If an agreement is reached, the club from Saint Petersburg would receive about €6 million for the player in two installments: €1 million in the winter transfer window and about €5 million in the summer. It is also reported that Erakovic wants to leave Zenit due to dissatisfaction with his playing time and coach Sergey Semak's preference for other players.
