Ștefan Baiaram Transfer from Universitatea Craiova to İstanbul Başakşehir
Sorin Cârțu stated that Bașakșehir wanted to bring Ștefan Baiaram for a large sum. Cârțu said that Baiaram was close to leaving and that there were discussions with Bașakșehir. According to Cârțu, there was a real offer after the two-legged tie, but they did not agree on some details. He added that he did not participate in the talks but that the offer was around 6-7 million euros. Cârțu confirmed that discussions were held about a real offer, but it was not resolved and Baiaram remained at Craiova.
An offer for Ștefan Baiaram, a 22-year-old Romanian winger, has been made by İstanbul Başakşehir, the club recently eliminated by Universitatea Craiova in the Conference League play-offs. According to digisport.ro, the Turkish team proposed a deal of €4 million plus a sell-on clause for the player, who is reportedly in excellent form in the Romanian Superliga. The bid was turned down by Mihai Rotaru, Universitatea Craiova's owner, who has a valuation of the player between €8 and €10 million. The decision to reject the offer was also impacted by the closed transfer window in Romania, which prevents the club from signing a replacement. In Turkey, the window for transfers is open until Friday at 23:59. Baiaram's current contract with the Romanian club is valid until June 2028, and his Transfermarkt value is estimated at €2 million. Previously, he has attracted interest from teams in Italy and the United States.
