Stanislav Shopov, a Bulgarian international footballer, has become the latest addition to Osijek, taking on the role of their number ten. He made the move on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with CSKA Sofia. Although the Bulgarian media had anticipated a contract renewal due to his exceptional performance the previous season, Shopov chose to transfer to Osijek's Opus Arena instead. In the last season, he distinguished himself by scoring six goals and providing nine assists, earning the title of the best offensive player at CSKA Sofia. Remarkably, no Bulgarian player at CSKA had assisted more goals in a single season than Shopov in the past 19 years. This transfer represents Osijek's first acquisition of the transfer window, coinciding with a challenging period for CSKA Sofia, who recently failed to qualify for European competition.
