Viborg and FC Lorient have agreed on a transfer for 22-year-old left-back Srdjan Kuzmić for a fee of three million euros, or 22.5 million kroner, despite the player having only 10 months left on his contract. The majority of the sum is set to be paid upfront, with potential bonuses of less than a handful of million kroner if the Slovenian international meets certain criteria. Viborg's football director, Mads Agesen, had hoped to extend the player's contract, but he had also acknowledged to Viaplay about a month prior that he understood Kuzmić's desire to move to a top-five league if a suitable club emerged. The deal is considered one of the top 10 sales in Viborg's history. It has been reported that Kuzmić has already played his farewell match for the Danish side. Kuzmić joined Viborg in July 2023, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €2.00m. Dinamo Zagreb had also been linked with the player.
