According to Sky Germany, Brentford are among several clubs interested in Schalke's German-Moroccan midfielder Soufiane El-Faouzi. The 23-year-old, who helped his club achieve promotion back to the Bundesliga, has also reportedly attracted interest from Celtic, Sunderland, Bologna, and Rennes. The same source states that Schalke plans to keep the player and has set a valuation of €12 million (£10.3 million) for him. El-Faouzi joined Schalke in July 2025 from Alemannia Aachen for a reported fee of around €200,000, and his current contract runs until 2029. His current market value is €4.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Earlier reports mentioned an asking price of up to €10 million in March 2026 and offers of at least €8.5 million in January 2026.
