OFI is interested in signing 24-year-old Greek midfielder Sotiris Alexandropoulos on loan. The Greek club is monitoring the midfielder and attempting to find a solution for his salary, as they are unable to cover his entire contract. Alexandropoulos is not part of Sporting's plans, is in the final year of his contract, and is expected to be loaned out again. He had loan spells at Olympiacos, Standard Liège, and Fortuna Düsseldorf after joining the Portuguese club in August 2022 for a fee of 4.5 million euros. The Greek international, who has 10 caps for his country, made 20 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for Fortuna Düsseldorf during the 2025/2026 season. His current market value is €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt. Previous loan deals for the player included reported purchase options of €4 million in May 2024 and €3 million in July 2024.
