Aftonbladet has reported an update on Sotirios Papagiannopoulos' contract situation with AIK. The 34-year-old defender, who is currently with AIK, has a contract that is due to expire in the winter. About a month ago, he had a positive dialogue with the club management, however, there has been no further communication since then. He indicated that he has received some inquiries from Greek football, but noted that nothing has significantly progressed. AIK's head of scouting and recruitment, Fredrik Wisur Hansen, has been in contact with Papagiannopoulos' agent and has expressed the club's desire to find a solution regarding his contract extension. Having previously played for Paok in Greece, Papagiannopoulos sees the Greek football scene as a nearby option for his career. The defender, who holds both Swedish and Greek citizenship, currently has a market value estimated at €300k by Transfermarkt.
