Newly-promoted Venezia are targeting Fiorentina's Swiss-Nigerian midfielder, Simon Sohm. The club is seeking a new midfielder and faces competition from Sassuolo, who are also interested in the player. Sassuolo are in discussions with Fiorentina regarding a potential deal for Kristian Thorstvedt, and Sohm's name has been mentioned as a possible part of that transfer. The 25-year-old has returned to Fiorentina after spending the second half of last season on loan at Bologna. His contract with Fiorentina is valid until 2030. Bologna did not exercise their option to buy him, which was reportedly for €12 million. Sohm has four caps for Switzerland, a current market value of €8.00m, and has made 83 career appearances in Serie A, scoring five goals.
