Simon Schierack has decided to leave Śląsk Wrocław and will no longer represent the club. He will join the fourth-division German team 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig for the new season, a move made possible by exercising an option in his contract. According to media reports, the player's initial contract guaranteed a monthly salary of 50,000 PLN. That contract included a special clause that permitted Schierack to decide on his future at the end of the season. There were recent reports concerning a contract extension until mid-2027 on significantly lower financial terms.

On Saturday, Lok Leipzig confirmed the club’s third new signing of the season. German midfielder Simon Schierack, 21, has been given a contract until 2028. Sporting managing director Toni Wachsmuth said that they had been in contact with Simon for the past two years and had followed his development closely. He added that they see great potential in him because despite his young age he already has a fair amount of experience, and that they are pleased he is strengthening their central midfield with his quality. From U14 to U19, Schierack played for all of Bundesliga club RB Leipzig’s youth teams. He then moved to Polish club Śląsk Wrocław, where he also appeared three times in the top division over the last seasons. However, he mainly played for the second team, where he featured in 54 matches in Poland’s third and fourth divisions (12 goals, 12 assists). Schierack said that Lok Leipzig is a club with many fans and a great tradition, and that to now be a part of that makes him grateful and proud. He added that he will work hard and give his best so that they can have a successful time together. According to Transfermarkt, the former Germany U15 international has a current market value of €50k.
