Sidny Cabral Transfer from Estrela Amadora to Benfica
Benfica has opened negotiations to sign 23-year-old Cape Verdean-Dutch versatile full-back Sidny Cabral from Estrela da Amadora. The deal could be completed for €6 million, with Estrela set to retain a portion of the player's economic rights. José Mourinho has given his approval for the signing, and Benfica's board is evaluating the move for January and is considering proceeding. While there have been no recent developments, partly due to the clubs' recent matches, the process is likely to move forward and could be finalized in the coming days. SC Braga also inquired about the player but did not approach the values Estrela da Amadora was asking for. Cabral, a Cape Verde international with six caps and one goal, has scored five goals and provided three assists in 15 Liga Portugal appearances in the 2025/2026 season. The defender, who joined Estrela in July 2025, is under contract until June 2028 and has a Transfermarkt market value of €2.00m. In November 2025, reports indicated Estrela would not sell for less than €7.5 million, and by December 2025, the club's valuation was reportedly set at €8 million.
