FC Universitatea Cluj, currently third in the SuperLiga, is targeting 29-year-old central defender Sheriff Sinyan. The club is seeking an experienced player to reinforce its defense for next season and has made initial contact. However, Sinyan's current club, CFR Cluj, does not intend to facilitate his departure and has started negotiations to extend his contract. An agreement is reportedly far from being reached. Sinyan is considered a key player at CFR Cluj, having made 41 appearances this season. The Gambian international is valued at 1 million euros by Transfermakt, and if Universitatea Cluj's interest materializes, he could join a new club in the summer. Sinyan, who also holds Norwegian nationality, joined CFR Cluj on 17/01/2025 and has 12 caps and 1 goal for The Gambia.
