Legia Warsaw have confirmed the sale of Sergio Barcia to SC Braga. The club's board gained additional funds from the unexpected transfer.

According to A Bola, SC Braga has officially signed Spanish central defender Sergio Barcia from Legia Warsaw. The player signed a four-season contract valid until 2030, which includes a release clause of €40 million. The transfer cost was €1.5 million. Sergio Barcia has already completed his medical examinations and immediately joined the squad managed by Carlos Vicens.

Sergio Barcia, a 25-year-old centre-back, is set to leave Legia Warszawa for Braga, and negotiations for the transfer have been finalized. Legia will earn €1.5 million from the deal, in addition to potential future bonuses. Another club, Las Palmas, where the Spanish player was on loan last season, had considered activating a purchase option. During the 2025/2026 LaLiga2 season, Barcia made 34 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. However, Las Palmas' plans were unsuccessful after the second-division side failed to win promotion to the Spanish top flight, leading to a lack of sufficient funds, which allowed Braga to secure the player. His contract at Legia Warszawa was due to expire on June 30, 2027.
