Sekou Tidiany Bangoura Transfer from Ironi Kiryat Shmona to Lorient
Sekou Tidiany Bangoura is set to join Columbus Crew despite persistent interest from several European clubs. FC Lorient was long considered the most likely club to sign him, but European suitors faced difficulties in meeting the player's release clause. The MLS club and Ironi Kiryat Shmona reached an agreement in principle following discussions that were described as quick and constructive. Columbus Crew paid a $400,000 fee, which was lower than the Israeli club's initial $500,000 valuation. Although Ironi Kiryat Shmona was at first open to a transfer to Europe, the decision for the MLS was made with the agreement of both the player and his club. Bangoura is expected to sign a two-year contract that includes an option for a third year. Additionally, sources close to the deal report that a pre-contract has already been signed.
