According to Sky Sports Italia, Rangers are monitoring Sebastiano Desplanches of Palermo for a potential summer transfer. Rangers are seeking a younger alternative for their goalkeeper position and view Desplanches as a long-term successor. It is also reported that other clubs are competing for Desplanches.

According to the Daily Record, Sebastiano Desplanches is on Rangers' list of goalkeeping options if the club fails to secure a deal for Pandur.

Sebastiano Desplanches, 23, is expected to leave Palermo, with the club considering either a loan or a permanent transfer for the goalkeeper. Glasgow Rangers and English club Norwich have both shown interest in the player and have asked Palermo for information about a possible acquisition. Newly-promoted Serie B side Benevento has also recently taken action to acquire the former Under-21 international. Desplanches spent the 2025/2026 season on loan at Pescara, making 25 appearances in Serie B. His contract with parent club Palermo expires in June 2028, and his current market value is €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
