Avellino is searching for a new goalkeeper because Giovanni Daffara is expected to be bought back by Juventus and Antony Iannarilli is set to leave. The club has targeted 23-year-old Italian Sebastiano Desplanches, who is owned by Palermo. Desplanches recently had a loan spell at Pescara where he made 27 appearances before an injury. Palermo does not seem interested in keeping Desplanches since Jesse Joronen will be confirmed as the starting goalkeeper, which could lead to a sale. Il Mattino reports that Avellino is considering a permanent transfer for the keeper. Desplanches' contract with Palermo runs until 2028, and he has been capped 16 times for the Italy U21 team. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.00m.
