Saydou Bangura Transfer from Roda JC Kerkrade to Istra 1961
Saydou Bangura, a 22-year-old central forward, is poised to transfer to Istra 1961 from Roda JC. He is scheduled to undergo medical examinations on Tuesday, and upon passing, he will sign a contract with the club. Known for his speed and strength, Bangura stands at 188 cm. He previously played for Roda JC's first team, where he scored four goals and provided one assist during the last spring season. This transfer is part of Istra 1961's strategy to enhance their attacking lineup. Originally from Guinea, Bangura has gained youth experience from Sittard, Aachen, and Kaiserlautern before joining Roda JC's U21 team three years ago. His performance in the first team, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 37 appearances, drew the interest of Istra's sports director Saša Bjelanović and coach Goran Tomić. They have identified potential in his attacking capabilities, although they acknowledge the need for technical improvement. Bangura's arrival is not the only planned upgrade for Istra's attack, as the club is also negotiating with other forwards to strengthen their squad.
