According to FootMercato, Rangers have made progress over the signing of the 20-year-old defender Sankhoun Diawara. It is claimed the Gers have presented him with a project described as ambitious, which likely includes a solid wage and the club's plans to challenge for the title and success in Europe. Troyes are said to be working on convincing the centre-back to stay. With his contract expiring in 2027, Troyes must either agree a new deal or be forced to sell this summer to ensure they receive a fee for the player.

Troyes have a strong desire to retain Sankhoun Diawara after an interest in the central defender was attributed to the Ibrox side. OuestFrance reports that Troyes are keen to keep the 20-year-old. Troyes acknowledges that a suitable offer would be difficult to refuse, as only one year remains on his contract, however, they are not hurrying to sell the defender.

Glasgow Rangers have reportedly become interested in signing Sankhoun Diawara, a 20-year-old French and Senegalese central defender for ESTAC, and are closely monitoring his situation. The Scottish club joins FC Basel in being interested in the U21 international, with the Swiss side having reportedly made significant progress on the deal. Although Troyes hope to convince Diawara to extend his contract, which is valid until June 2027, the player currently has no intention of signing a new deal. According to Transfermarkt, Diawara has a current market value of €2.00m. He made 14 appearances and provided one assist in Ligue 2 during the 2025/2026 season.
