Blackburn Rovers are progressing with a deal to make 34-year-old free agent Sam Morsy their second summer signing, following the signing of Jayden Fevrier. Head coach Tony Mowbray confirmed after the win at Burton Albion on Saturday that he had spoken with the Egyptian international midfielder, stating there is potential for a deal to happen. Mowbray noted that Morsy has great belief in his ability and physicality for his age. Morsy has 9 caps for his country. Morsy is unattached after leaving Bristol City, where he was on a short-term contract. He previously captained Ipswich Town to Premier League promotion in 2024 before leaving the club last summer.
