According to Il Tirreno, contacts with the player's entourage are already underway. Palermo wants to re-sign the player following his 2022/2023 spell at the club, and Benevento is reportedly prepared to make a significant financial offer to re-sign him. Elia's contract with Empoli extends until 2028, and the club has set a minimum asking price of between €1.7 million and €2 million. Elia has two caps for Italy's U18 team. He transferred to Empoli in August 2025 for a reported €1.7 million, and his current market value is €2.2 million, according to Transfermarkt.
