Blackburn Rovers announced in their mid-May retained list that the four-and-a-half-year tenure of Welsh international Ryan Hedges at the club would conclude upon the expiration of his contract this summer. The 30-year-old winger will become a free agent. Several clubs from both the Championship and League One are interested in signing him. A potential return to Barnsley, where Hedges previously had a two-and-a-half-year spell, is being discussed. During that time, he was primarily used as a substitute, particularly in the 2018/19 campaign under Daniel Stendel, who is now the reinstated manager. After his first stint at Oakwell, Hedges moved to Aberdeen in 2019 before returning to the EFL with Blackburn in January 2022. The winger has three caps for Wales and has a current market value of €700k, according to Transfermarkt. Bolton Wanderers have also been linked with the player.
