Transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Venezia is working to sign Ghanaian centre-back Rufai Mohammed, 20, from Elfsborg. Di Marzio later provided an update, stating the transfer will happen and writing that an agreement is in place between the clubs for the deal to be completed. Information regarding the transfer fee has not been revealed. Mohammed joined Elfsborg in March 2024, and his contract runs until the end of 2029. In the 2025/2026 Allsvenskan season, he has made 15 appearances and provided 1 assist. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €350k.
