Rufai Mohammed has been loaned from Elfsborg to Venezia until the summer of 2027, with Venezia having an option to buy him. Club director Stefan Andreasson stated that Elfsborg chose to reach an agreement with Venezia following a sporting and economic assessment. The agreement involves a loan fee, and a market-based transfer agreement is in place if Venezia exercises the purchase option.

According to Anel Avdic, Venezia is paying five million kronor to loan Rufai Mohammed from IF Elfsborg. The agreement includes a purchase option worth 30 million kronor and bonuses up to 15 million kronor. The total deal could be worth up to 50 million kronor if Rufai Mohammed is bought outright.

Nicolo Schira reports that the transfer of Rufai Mohammed to Venezia is confirmed. Rufai Mohammed, who was born in 2006, is moving to Venezia from Elfsborg. The transfer is described as a done deal.

Transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Venezia is working to sign Ghanaian centre-back Rufai Mohammed, 20, from Elfsborg. Di Marzio later provided an update, stating the transfer will happen and writing that an agreement is in place between the clubs for the deal to be completed. Information regarding the transfer fee has not been revealed. Mohammed joined Elfsborg in March 2024, and his contract runs until the end of 2029. In the 2025/2026 Allsvenskan season, he has made 15 appearances and provided 1 assist. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €350k.
