Team Talk has reported that AC Milan have offered Ruben Loftus-Cheek to several Premier League clubs before the January transfer window, and that intermediaries have discussed his availability with Sunderland. The report also states that AC Milan are willing to facilitate a transfer in order to create squad space, increase their flexibility in the market, and reshape their squad. Loftus-Cheek is entering the final six months of his contract, and discussions regarding a new contract have not yet occurred with his representatives or the club. Milan are prepared to explore options to avoid the player leaving on a free transfer next summer, and the possibility of loans is also an option.

According to Team Talk, AC Milan's 29-year-old English midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is potentially available and is reportedly open to returning to the Premier League. Intermediaries have informed Sunderland about the potential availability of the AC Milan midfielder. Sunderland is one of seven English clubs that have been informed about the situation, along with Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle, Brentford, Everton, and his former club Fulham. The intermediaries have suggested that Milan would be willing to agree to a loan that includes an option to buy. Other clubs in both Italy and Spain have also shown interest, and Loftus-Cheek has previously been linked with a move to Juventus in a possible swap deal. The midfielder, who has 11 caps for England, has one goal and one assist in 17 Serie A appearances this season, and is under contract until June 2027. In January 2026, reports claimed AC Milan was demanding €10 million for the player. He joined from Chelsea in July 2023 for a reported fee of €16 million.
