The decision was agreed upon by the club and the player to enable Gabrić to get more playing time in the SuperSport Prva NL. This move was prompted by increased competition for defensive positions at Hajduk following the arrival of Dennis Hadžikadunić, a 28-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international who joined as a free agent. The dual registration arrangement means Gabrić will not leave Hajduk, with whom he is under contract until the summer of 2027.
