Robin Risser Transfer from Strasbourg to Lens

Robin Risser, a 20-year-old French international Espoirs goalkeeper, has signed with Lens from Strasbourg after a loan spell at Red Star. He has committed to a five-year contract, extending until June 2030. The transfer fee was 3 million euros. Risser is seen as a youthful choice to rejuvenate the goalkeeper position following the departures of Mathew Ryan and Brice Samba, and the decision not to retain Hervé Koffi.

Robin Risser is a top priority for RC Lens, alongside another unnamed goalkeeper. He was previously on loan at Red Star and performed well in Ligue 2. He is aware he has no future at RC Strasbourg and needs to move to advance his career. RC Lens hopes to make a decision on the goalkeeper position by the end of the week.

RC Lens has identified Robin Risser as a potential candidate for their goalkeeper position. The 20-year-old international Espoir U20 goalkeeper, who spent last season on loan at Red Star, demonstrated impressive performances in Ligue 2, attracting the interest of several clubs. Although he was trained at RC Strasbourg, Risser's future there seems uncertain, leading clubs such as Brest, Nice, and Stade Rennais to consider him as a promising addition. Lens is in competition with these clubs to acquire Risser, who has already made 50 professional appearances. His recent selection for the French national team for the Euro highlights his growing reputation, even though he had to withdraw due to back pain.
