Richard Ríos Transfer from Palmeiras to Atlético Madrid
ESPN BR has reported that Atlético de Madrid is interested in Richard Ríos following his impressive performances at the Mundial de Clubes, which caught the attention of European clubs. Despite this interest, Palmeiras reportedly has no intention of negotiating over the player, as they consider him indispensable. The Brazilian club would only entertain a sale if they receive what they describe as an 'irresistible offer.' In recent days, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Porto have also expressed interest in the Colombian midfielder, alongside Atlético de Madrid. However, Palmeiras is said to be firm in their stance, having recently bolstered their position by acquiring an additional 10% of Ríos's rights, increasing their stake to 70%. Additionally, Ríos's contract was recently renewed, extending it until 2028, which further consolidates the club's hold on the player. Palmeiras's president, Leila Pereira, reportedly insisted that the only way Ríos would be transferred is if a club meets his release clause of 100 million euros. Previously, the club had turned down a 23 million euro offer for Ríos, highlighting their determination to retain the player.
