Rafał Gikiewicz Transfer from Widzew Lodz to Jagiellonia Białystok

Rafał Gikiewicz is open to a winter transfer and has been linked with a return to Jagiellonia Białystok. However, Jagiellonia Białystok does not plan to make such a move and will give Miłosz Piekutowski a chance instead.

Rafał Gikiewicz could be an option for Jagiellonia Białystok if Sławomir Abramowicz does not recover quickly, according to Jarosław Koliński speaking on the program 'Pogadajmy o piłce'. Koliński noted that a high salary could be a problem and mentioned that Widzew Łódź would be very happy with the move. He also questioned whether Gikiewicz would want to join the Białystok club.

Polish goalkeeper Rafał Gikiewicz is looking for a new club, as his future with Widzew Łódź, where he was moved down the pecking order, seems to be over despite his contract running until June 30, 2026. A potential opportunity for a medical transfer to Jagiellonia Białystok may have opened up after their goalkeeper, Sławomir Abramowicz, sustained an injury during a Polish youth national team camp that could result in a long-term absence. Piotr Rzepecki suggested this situation could be a chance for Gikiewicz to join the club and help in several league matches, an opinion that has reportedly been echoed by others. The 37-year-old, who has also been linked with Zagłębie Lubin and recently explored a possible move to Wisła Kraków, had previously mentioned in a conversation with Tomasz Ćwiąkała that he is considering his options, including a medical transfer, and that people are monitoring the market for him. A transfer to the Białystok club would mark a return for Gikiewicz, as it is where he first played in the Ekstraklasa. According to Transfermarkt, the player has a current market value of €250k.
