According to Football Insider, Leeds are still competing to sign AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao before the transfer window closes. Leeds have not ruled out making a late move, despite facing competition from clubs across Europe and concerns being raised by his high financial demands.

Portuguese international Rafael Leao has been linked with a move to Leeds United, but the club has not yet registered a formal bid. Some reports have suggested that Leao could demand a pay increase at his next club, which could make a move to Leeds more challenging. At Milan, Leao reportedly earns around £105,000 a week, which would make him the highest earner at Leeds United, where new signing Tarik Muharemović and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin currently have salaries of £100,000 a week.

Journalist Yakup Cinar reports that Leeds United are one of the clubs to have made an offer of €50m plus €5m for AC Milan forward Rafael Leao. Cinar states that Leao's wage demands are reportedly as high as €10m a year, an amount considered too high for these clubs.

According to insider Ben Jacobs, AC Milan's Rafael Leão has been offered to Leeds United, Manchester United, and Arsenal. Jacobs suggested that none of these moves are likely to advance due to the finances and scale of the potential deal. The insider stated his expectation that Leão might instead end up in Turkey, with AC Milan's asking price reported in August 2026 to be around €50 million.
