Aston Villa is interested in signing Marseille midfielder Quinten Timber this summer and are competing with Crystal Palace for the 24-year-old. The West Midlands club is currently the leading club in the effort to sign the Dutch player. It is understood that Timber is open to joining a Premier League club, and while it is not yet certain if either English team will make an official offer, he could cost around €30 million. It is believed that both clubs have the financial resources to pay the fee for the midfielder. Aston Villa is seeking to add depth to their squad after qualifying for the Champions League. Timber, who has 10 caps and one goal for the Netherlands, joined Marseille from Feyenoord in January 2026, signing a contract until 2030. The transfer was completed for a fee reported to be €4.5 million because his previous contract was expiring, while Feyenoord's asking price in the summer of 2025 had been between €25 million and €30 million. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €25.00m.
