According to market expert Fabrizio Romano, Villarreal is very close to signing Hungarian goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi, with talks reported to be at an advanced stage. The 36-year-old international would arrive to cover the probable departure of Arnau Tenas and would be the club's first new signing of the summer. Gulácsi has been at Leipzig for the past 11 seasons and his contract with the German club is valid until June 2027.
