According to market expert Fabrizio Romano, Villarreal is very close to signing Hungarian goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi, with talks between the parties reported to be at an advanced stage. The 36-year-old international would arrive to cover the probable departure of Arnau Tenas and would be the club's first new signing of the summer market.
Gulácsi has been at Leipzig for the past 11 seasons, where he has competed in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and Europa League. He has made 58 appearances for the Hungarian national team. His contract with the German club is valid until June 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.00m.
